Back in 1999, Paul Thomas Anderson added to the list of great American films – Magnolia – a sprawling, heart-on-sleeve ensemble, channeling the likes of Frank Capra and Robert Altman.
The film came with an equally great soundtrack, largely in thanks to Aimee Mann and Jon Brion (who also did score for Anderson’s 2002 film, Punch-Drunk Love).
Here are two of the soundtrack’s standout songs that for some reason, can’t be found on Spotify and hence, are not on CULT FICTION (though Miss Mann’s cover of Harry Nilsson‘s One is already on there).
